This is the main room for our two year olds

Jelly Tots

Here we have chance to discover through our many planned play activities and free play. We usually have breakfast with the Jelly Beans in our room, before we start the day. We have lots of different toys to play with, which our grown-ups plan for us each week. Our mummy’s and daddy’s are able to look at them if they want to. During the day the grown-ups ask us what we would like to play with and they get it out for us which is good, as we enjoy choosing for ourselves. As well as our toys we are encouraged to join in with lots of messy activities such as pasta, painting, colouring, sand and water, shredded paper etc. We go outside whenever possible and we all enjoy discovering our environment going on slides and seesaws, singing, dancing etc. We go for nursery walks at times also which we enjoy as we can explore and investigate our world.

We have a snack mid morning and have a variety of fresh fruit and milk or water. We regularly have our nappies changed throughout the day as well as and when we need it. If we need help toilet training the grown-ups are always there to help us whether it be the potty or our special small toilet. We sit down together with the Jelly Beans at 11.30am to have our lunch; the grown-ups are able to cater for our different dietary requirements. At lunch time we get the chance to dish up our own food, which really helps us with our fine motor skills. After our lunch we have sleeps, if we need it, if we are awake we really enjoy some free play. When we are all awake we have a refreshing drink of milk or water before the start of our afternoon.

During the afternoon the grown-ups give us a variety of different toys for us to explore and investigate as well asking us what we would like to play with again as well as more messy play. We have afternoon tea between 3.30pm and 3.45pm. After tea we are able to explore more toys and equipment such as treasure baskets, role play, stickle bricks, musical instruments, books or puzzles until we are collected by mummy, daddy, grandparents or another family member.

Our day at nursery has been full and fun packed and although we enjoy our time here we look forward to having special time and talking with our parents about our day at Daffodil Nursery.
